After a bit of searching I found Soluto .. this app is great! It's a .net app that's FREE and it checks the health of your machine along with startup apps. After an install, account created and a reboot it advises which services you can stop and which you can delay.

This makes for a faster PC without having to mess around, plus it keeps working to see whereelse it can speed things up. Go check it here: www.soluto.comm3ckonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07987351413903331866noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-823300645391069176.post-17504055592902749192012-08-20T11:57:00.000-07:002012-08-20T11:57:09.620-07:00Blackberry extend rings until voicemailfor some reason a Blackberry by default goes to VM after 2 rings. Have a look at my theory below and tell me what you think...

I recently saw the new batman trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8evyE9TuYk

and cannot wait to see it. However I spotted something, if you listen to the clip at 35 seconds you hear someone clearly saying 'What are you'

Now rewind to 1988 and the Tim Burton version:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H84Yp9SctJU

Go to 49 seconds in and listen.

Now I'm sure this is intential and is Christopher Nolan paying tribute to the original. I also think there's some irony as Tim Burton's Batman was supposed to be super scary and he's saying that Bane actually is scary.

Let me know what you think.. maybe I'm just going a bit insane, but I'm sure there is a link!m3ckonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07987351413903331866noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-823300645391069176.post-42727929005317666242012-06-08T04:27:00.001-07:002012-06-08T04:27:25.365-07:00Professional CV WritingI made a decision a few months ago that it was time to start looking for a new job. Despite over 15 years experience, I was struggling to find anything! Recruiters were not calling and my applications were being rejected. After a month of no success I decided to have my CV written professionally and was VERY impressed with the results.

I used a company called www.cvstop.net they turned the CV around in just 3 days and they happily made changes for me. Within a week I had 2 interviews lined up and just waiting to hear back now. All in all I thoroughly recommend using this company!m3ckonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07987351413903331866noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-823300645391069176.post-6838338050464734362012-01-13T04:36:00.000-08:002012-01-13T04:37:02.649-08:00Export your blog from Weebly to Wordpress1) download your RSS blog as .xml - if you don't know how to do this, just use the save as function in your browser and name the file export.xml
2) open the file up in notepad and remove the following from the file(use find and replace!)

and then save your file
3) Open Wordpress and install the RSS importer plugin
4) Open the RSS importer plugin and upload your modified export.xml file (you should find this under tools -> import --> RSS)
5) You will now find that your blog posts have been transferred from Weebly to Wordpress

Unfortunately this process does not include your categories/tags or pictures. To rectify this you'll have to manually edit the posts. However we couldn't find any resource on the web explaining to do this, so hopefully this will be of use to some people.m3ckonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07987351413903331866noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-823300645391069176.post-9670300169810971732012-01-07T11:25:00.000-08:002012-01-14T04:11:44.180-08:00How to display amazon associate ads on your blogger siteDespite thinking this would be easy, it turned out to be a bit of a pain! So to make your life easier, here are the definitive steps on how to add an amazon affiliate ad to your blogger blog.

1) Log in to amazon associates website (sign up for an account if you don't have one already)
2) Click on the widgets button
3) Chose Recommended product links Widget (you can use any one you want, but this seems to be the best in our opinion)
4) Chose your product line and keywords or subcategory
5) Select the size you need - for our template we chose 200 x 200
6) Copy the html generated into notepad
7) Go to edit and replace & with & amp; (without the space) and replace all
8) copy the new html and then log into Blogger and edit your template (Design > Edit html)
9) Paste the html onto your template - we recommend putting it here: "div id='sidebar-wrapper'>"

Hopefully this will save you a lot of time. Please let us know if it works!m3ckonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07987351413903331866noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-823300645391069176.post-75368823328664881982012-01-06T13:48:00.000-08:002012-01-06T13:50:12.500-08:00USB drive not showing all capacityIf you have a USB that's only showing 2GB but should be more, use the steps below to restore it to it's size...

If you can't get the full capacity of your USB drive back with the Lexar tool (I couldn't with a Patriot Memory X-Mini 8GB), you can use DISKPART from Vista/Win7 to do so. Warning: DISKPART is dangerous - do not use if you don't feel comfortable with it! Insert your USB disk, make sure it is recognized by Windows (with the lower capacity), and then do the following:

1) Type "DISKPART" from the Command Prompt (accessible by clicking on Start and then typing "cmd" into the open field); you will then see the following prompt: DISKPART>
2) Type "LIST DISK" to see what number your USB drive is listed as.
3) Type "SELECT DISK 2" (if your USB is disk 2; replace # with your disk #); Diskpart will confirm that "Disk 2 is now the select disk."
4) Type "SELECT PARTITION 1" (this command selects what should be the only partition on your USB drive, the small one that you want to delete to get back the larger, full partition size). Diskpart will confirm with "Partition 1 is now the selected partition."
5) Type "DELETE PARTITION".
6) Type "CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY" - " You can type in "LIST PARTITION" to confirm the new, full-size.
7) Type "EXIT" to leave Diskpart. You can now format your USB drive by using the standard Windows formatting process.m3ckonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07987351413903331866noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-823300645391069176.post-41697708960876684012011-09-05T03:50:00.001-07:002011-09-05T03:53:03.923-07:00iPhone DFU not working - solved!Hi there,

if you've been jailbreaking your iPhone and made a mistake, it can be tough to get it back to DFU mode to restore it. However, thankfully the steps below work (have faith!)

While the iPhone is plugged in and connected to iTunes:

Press the Home button
Press the on button (with the home button still pressed down)
Hold both buttons for 10 seconds

This is a pain as i like to use my Blackberry. I was all set to use ICS in Windows 7, but despite looking like it should work, it doesn't seem to be compatible with an iPhone.

After a bit of googling, I found some software called connectify, which is free!
